In late 2018, Lyme Regis Brewery was facing closure. Our small coastal brewery, born from passion and a love of great beer, was about to pour its last pint.
But thanks to you — our community of loyal customers and friends — we pulled it back from the brink. Together, we saved the brewery and created something really rather special.
Now, nearly seven years on, we’re ready for the next big step: securing the future of Lyme Regis Brewery for the next decade and beyond. Despite us spending thousands of pounds worth of investment, we’re still struggling to keep up with demand and need to build a future-proof facility to keep the beer flowing.
The Next Chapter: BEERWORKS
We’re building BEERWORKS — a brand new, future-proof brewing facility in Axminster. It’s our next evolution: a place designed to help us grow sustainably, brew more beer, and connect even more deeply with the people who made all this possible. At BEERWORKS we will create more beer to keep our vibrant tap room in Lyme Regis stocked up as well as enabling us to increase our trade sales regionally.
Here’s what’s coming:
🍺 A New 1500L Steam-Powered Brewhouse
We’ve already purchased it — now we need to install it! This upgrade will increase our capacity from around 100,000 litres to over 250,000 litres a year, allowing us to create more of the beers you love (and plenty of new ones too).
🏗️ A Taproom & Retail Space
We’ve secured the lease on a fantastic warehouse in Axminster, just a stone’s throw from Lyme. It’ll soon become a vibrant community space for tours, tastings, and events — a proper home for beer lovers to gather, learn, and celebrate. It’s a short trip from our Tap Room in Lyme, so we hope many of you can pay sus a visit for a tour or tasting.
Why We’re Crowdfunding
We’re asking our community — the people who saved us once — to help us once again.
Our goal is to raise funds to help us with the works associated with such an ambitious project:
The tasks are split into 3 phases:
• Phase 1 – Installation of our new brewhouse
Target = £10,000 (to cover the cost of electrical, plumbing, drainage and steam works to get our new brewhouse running!) We’ve already spent over £100,000 on the new equipment, but we need help with the cost of install!)
• Phase 2 – Renovation and fit-out of a new retail “cellar door” and bar
Target = £10,000 (to help build a new beer cellar, retail space and bar area for customers to start to visit us)
• Phase 3 – Build of an awesome new taproom bar area / function room
Target = £20,000 (to help build the new upstairs tasting room and bar where you can sit and watch us brew from the balcony!)

We’re asking you to simply buy beer, merchandise or tickets to events or experiences for you to enjoy. We’re a seasonal business and winter is quiet for us so if we can raise enough funds during our quiet season, we can make the project happen faster, in time for you to enjoy it sooner!
Every pound pledged will go directly into building this next phase of our story — helping us brew better, greener, and bolder than ever before.

NOTE – We are not closing our current tap room in Lyme Regis – BEERWORKS is a new brewing facility which will be a second place to visit and see where our beers are made, where we can hold tours, tastings and events. It will also have outside parking making beer collections by vehicle much easier!
